We wanted to go up the tower but a ticket cost 38 dollars D: Plus we had to leave in 15-20 minutes, so we decided it wasn’t going to be worth it this time. It’s the Mooncake Festival today! I got home at 9.30pm, everyone already had dinner and was sitting outside snacking on mooncakes and yams, and my uncle-in-law and his twin was lighting lanterns. We need more kids, lmao.
Oh-kay. I’m sleepy. I finished my SMA essay and I’m hoping it’s a D paper but I’m betting it’s barely a C. Would be satisfied if it came back a P, but only because it wasn’t an NP. WTF. Snore. I’m pretending there was never a fictocritical text to write.

I was Marina’s one-(wo)man crew at Estee Lauder’s Walk for World Pink today/night! She got awesome interviews (I wish the event I chose had people this cool organizing it, pffftt) and I got to play with handycams and cameras, AND I got to use my backpack and look all adventurous hiker-ish.
The walk was at the KL Tower and there were loads of pink; pink roses, pink drapes, pink tents, pink shirts, pink posters, everything pink and prettyyy. Then there was the Milo truck which wasn’t pink but was my favorite part of the event. I waved when they drove away and I think the guy waved back but I’m not sure if it was really me they were waving to, lmao. We were standing at the back of the crowd with the bushes and trees to film/photograph the KL Tower lighting. I wasn’t too impressed, ngl. I was expecting it to be completely drenched in bright candy pink, not some pansy purple-y pink, hmph. They had parachuters too, four of them, and they all managed to glide and float down to an exact spot; now that was impressive! ASA should teach me all about that, y/y? Oh, ASA. Jeswant, please have mercy and let me graduate :’(
(So I realized Tumblr’s “add another photo” feature turns them into a slideshow. DNW. Picture of KL Tower in “pink” next post.)

You and I, caught in the fading light

For the first time in months, the stack of books beside my keyboard are all fiction D: Not that, you know, the theoretical ones I borrowed for my assignments did anything more than look pretty. They do seem mighty useful but I actually have to read them to use them, and that’s just… boo. Thank you, online databases (MARINA, USE THEM!!!) and the awesome CTRL+F function. Indexes just aren’t as dope as you are *fist bump*.

I finished The Kite Runner! And it was amazing. I wasn’t expecting it to be so (hype is directly proportionate to my skepticism), but it was. It read very effortlessly and I think it easily ranks amongst the best books I’ve ever read. That said, it did go a little downhill for me during the last half, especially with Assef’s reappearance. A cardboard villain was a little disappointing after all the impressive back-stories afforded to so many characters.

I’m reading Lauren Weisberger’s Everyone Worth Knowing now and… still waiting for the funny. I demand my chick lit to be lmfao-able every two sentences >:(

I’m loading Glee now! Yayyy. I wouldn’t be watching it (or would I? Yeah I would, lmao) if Callum hadn’t extended the Second Media Age assignment from Sept 19th to Oct 5th, HERE, HAVE MY FIRSTBORN MR CALLUM G.

I have to wake up at 7.50 am tomorrow. DNW :(

Carry it in me like a souvenir

I’m at the computer lab!

This post will serve no other purpose than to inform you of my whereabouts which you probably have no interest in, sucks to be you lmao.

I have a major essay for Screen Theories coming up next Friday and I was relying on Dr Andrew to be all, OKAYLAH MONDAY! But he didn’t, waaaahh. I also need to call someone for an interview for Online Journalism, an elective which would be fun if we took the journalism out of it.

You know what makes me haaaaaappy? TIM BRANTLEY. Oh, that should be ‘who makes me haaaaaappy’. Which, in that case, we should also talk about David Archuleta, but now I think it should be ‘who makes me haaaaaappier’ instead because I’m already haaaaappy. And hungry. It’s 9.45am, fifteen minutes to my OJ tutorial and after that lunch with my mama.

Okay, more people just came in. Do not want. Yay, Marina just called, she’s coming up. I can stop talking to Tumblr \o/

Shhhwitter

  • Marina: *state secret*
  • Me: *!!!* Hey, you know that everyone can read your tweets right?
  • Marina: WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THESE THINGS OMG???

Marina and I watched Up in 3D today, and it was SO GOOD. The lift-off was so pretty and dreamy, and everything was basically just all kinds of awesome. You should totally go watch it if you haven’t.

Oh hi, first celebrity encounter! Mr. Benedict Anderson (left) at Universiti Malaya, April 10th 2009, for Colonial Cosmopolitan: Into the “heart” of Kwee Thiam Tjing. The chairperson (right) was starstruck and I think Marina was too, lmao.
Big, big girl in a big, big world: Monash > car > Mid Valley > shuttle bus > LRT > bus > UM.
